Apologies to Telugu readers for my English post.
As always, the history happens just because of one person. People who follow that person are either scapegoats or mere sheep. At the times we have seen, one Gazini, one Tuglak, one Osama, one Saddam and now one KCR. Did these persons made history just by virtue? Nonetheless, the history is made by all means of extremism, extremism that has no boundaries, extremism that has no sense, extremism that has no value added to it. During Islam reign, rulers forced Hindus to adapt Islam and they downgraded to the extent of raping the Hindu ladies. Now Telangana extremists are forcing Andhrities living in Telangana to say ‘Jai Telangana’ or ‘Leave Telangana’. As we see, the Riots, lutes, ceasing, demolishing etc. activities have already taken place. What else, we are waiting for? The true leader has to give a call to his people, make them as followers and let them take the stride, but that is not happening, but this leader, evokes the prowess of people and uses it to make followers by coercion or by ignorance. KCR says ‘If there is no Telangana, the blood flows in streams’. Whom they want to kill to flow streams of blood? What would be the right answer to such agitation and threat? I wish once again the British rule us and have another incident of Jalianwalla Bagh massacre to suppress this agitation. Because, as democrats we can’t do that to our nation and to our people.
We have seen the worst racism during British rule. Andhrities in Telangana still see that racism. I am referring to my own experience, but there are several others to mention. 30 years ago when my parents moved to telangana, the next door lady called my mother as ‘Andhra Bitch’ for no reason. They feared death, during Razakar movement and they feared Naxals all the time. Isn’t that brutal racism in one’s own country? The situation hasn’t changed much. Since that day to till now, our lives are in jeopardy. I say it, because on 31st December 2009 night, a neighborhood person came in a very intoxicated state, to wish my sister a very happy new year and forced her to say ‘Jai Telangana’. At the moment, she has no other way except to follow his orders. Isn’t that a slap on one’s face? That person may have right to seek separate Telangana, but absolutely holds no right to visit someone and make them say ‘Jai Telangana’. This happened with film hero Rana as well. Being an influential person, Rana could not react to the situation except to oblige to it. One would oblige, just because of fear. If an influential person fears them, what is going to happen to common people? Is this not a blatant violation of one’s basic constitutional right of being an Indian and having our own belief? I am sure, Indian constitution is above me and to that fact above all these activists who want Telangana. Then why should we oblige such extremists? Again they have right to seek Telangana, but they cannot deprive people from their basic rights.
Even, I heard the news regarding burning the sets for movies of Allu Arjun and Mahesh. Is there a name for such brutality? Is there a punishment to such violence? We, being the citizens of Telangana have faced sheer racism from time to time. A nation like US gives citizenship to the children born in US, but we have always been treated as second citizens on our own mother land. Though we relish the flavors of Telangana, though we follow the customs and traditions of Telangana, such as Bonalu and Batukamma, besides our efforts to be friendly with neighbors, why we have been called ‘Andhrollu’? ‘Andhrollu’, the word that often comes out of so called telangana neighbors and the word that trembles my ear and the word that raptures my inner layers. Being residents of Telangana for 30 years or so, why do my parents still face racism? Being citizens of Telangana why are we treated as second citizens? People like me neither belong to Andhra nor Telangana, then where should we go? Why are we living our lives in such rumblings? Why do we let these Gazinis and Tuglaks to take over the prosperity, charm and charisma of Andhra which was built by many Andhra kings of that time and many intellects of this time? It is not seeking separate Telangana, it is invading Andhra.
